PHOENIX, Oct. 26, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Honeywell Aerospace (NYSE: HON) employee Barbara Brockett, vice president of Engineering Test Services, was honored by The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) with the Suzanne Jenniches Upward Mobility Award at the annual WE15 conference, for women in engineering and technology. The award recognizes a female engineer whose position allows her to influence decision-making processes and create a nurturing environment for other women engineers.
Brockett has championed strategic initiatives including the Honeywell Aerospace Women's Council, Women and Honeywell Engineering Network, and the corporate engineering diversity organization recruiting program. She has also been a leader in establishing Honeywell's participation and engagement in SWE, and in particular the annual WE15 conference where she sponsored a team to implement sustainable, cost-effective improvements. Through SWE and other connections, Brockett has mentored and created opportunities for women in the field of engineering.
