BankPlus and FHLB Dallas Present $20K Partnership Grant to the Mississippi Minority Business Alliance

JACKSON, Miss., Oct. 1, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Please join representatives of BankPlus and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas (FHLB Dallas) as they present a $20,000 Partnership Grant Program (PGP) award to the Mississippi Minority Business Alliance (MMBA).

Founded in 1997, the MMBA exists to create and enhance opportunities for minority- and women-owned businesses in Mississippi. The nonprofit plans to use the grant funds to expand its outreach to minority businesses in rural and non-urban areas, particularly the delta region, the Gulf coast, and central and northern Mississippi.

The check presentation will take place at the conclusion of MMBA's 14^th annual awards gala, titled "Creating Successful Partnerships in a Global Economy." Earl G. "Butch" Graves, president and CEO of Black Enterprise, will be the evening's keynote speaker.

PGP awards provide funding for the operational needs of community-based organizations involved in affordable housing and economic development. FHLB Dallas has awarded $225,000 in PGP grants this year.
