CHICAGO, July 30, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Through its annual street corner fundraiser and a separate corporate donation, Bankers Life and Casualty Company has increased its support to the Alzheimer's Association® in 2013 to $426,500.
Bankers' annual Forget Me Not Days® event brought in donations of $326,500 for the Alzheimer's Association, up slightly from 2012. "Contracting Alzheimer's is a top fear of aging," said Scott Perry, President of Bankers. "Our customers and their families are impacted every day by the devastating effects of this disease. In its 11th year, Forget Me Not Days saw more than 1,000 Bankers agents, employees and Alzheimer's Association volunteers collect donations at locations in more than 160 U.S. cities in May. Since the fundraiser's start in 2003, Bankers has supported the Association with over $3.3 million for care, education and research programs.
"The dedication of Bankers Life and Casualty Company and all of their employees who participate in Forget Me Not Days year-over-year is always impressive and appreciated," said Angela Geiger, Chief Strategy Officer, Alzheimer's Association.
