SOUTHWEST RANCHES, Fla., April 25, 2011/PRNewswire – Bankers Healthcare Group, one of the nation's leaders in financing for healthcare professionals, recently made a significant contribution to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital by competing in the 4th Nautica South Beach Triathlon.

On April 10, BHG launched four teams on a mission to swim, bike, and run on the sunny shores of South Beach. Eric Castro, the COO and co-owner of Bankers Healthcare Group, was among the dozen athletes representing BHG. "At BHG, we pride ourselves on the exceptional financing services we provide to thousands of healthcare professionals every year. We are also proud of our commitment to promoting and supporting the health and wellness of our employees. Participating in this year's corporate challenge in South Beach to raise money for St. Jude's was a no-brainer. We're giving to an incredibly worthy cause that aligns perfectly with our professional and personal goals," commented Mr. Castro. St. Jude Children's Research Hospital specializes in the treatment of pediatric cancer and other catastrophic diseases in children. The hospital never denies treatment to a child because of the family's inability to pay and relies on the generosity of contributors like BHG to support their mission.
This fundraising effort is by no means the first for BHG. In fact, Bankers Healthcare Group has a long history of charitable contributions ranging from support for a local Little League team to significant donations to national organizations like the Triple Negative Breast Cancer Foundation, the Arthritis Foundation and the Children's Miracle Network. BHG executives have also gone beyond financial donations to contribute their time, passion, and expertise to other worthy causes. Christopher D. Panebianco, VP of Marketing for BHG, was the co-chair for the 2011 "Let's Move Together" Broward Arthritis Walk. Robert Castro, President and co-owner of BHG, began the Kathleen Castro Foundation in honor of his mother, a charity designed to help single mothers afford a quality, private education for their children.
For the dozens of BHG employees and executives who participated in this event by either sweating it out on South Beach or parting with their own hard-earned dollars, the opportunity to contribute to the wellbeing of child cancer patients is a perfect complement to what BHG does every day to serve healthcare professionals.
