Bank of the West Rockin' O!maha Band Contest: Calling All Up-and-Coming Bands
Winning Band Will Open for Cheap Trick and 38 Special on July 1
SAN FRANCISCO, April 25, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Calling all bands! Bank of the West is looking to find an up-and-coming band to open for Cheap Trick and 38 Special at Bank of the West Celebrates America, a free outdoor concert in Omaha on July 1.
This will be the 21st anniversary of this annual rock-in-the-park concert that attracts more than 50,000 people.
Entries for the Bank of the West Rockin' O!maha Band Contest are being accepted through May 31, 2011, at facebook.com/BankoftheWest.
Public online voting for the best band will be June 1-17, 2011, on Facebook. Input also will be provided by judges representing one of Hollywood's top talent agencies Creative Artists Agency (CAA); nationally known music venue Slowdown, developed by Jason Kulbel and Robb Nansel of Saddle Creek Records; award-winning Romeo Entertainment Group and San Francisco-based Bank of the West. The winning band will be announced on Facebook June 20, 2011.
The winning band will be determined by its popularity among online voters along with its musical talent and star power. The judges will provide input on musical talent, such as musical ability, expertise and originality of music, and star power, including stage presence, personality and creativity.
To enter the Bank of the West Rockin' O!maha Band Contest, an active member or official representative of the band enters their band through the Bank of the West Facebook page, facebook.com/BankoftheWest. Competition details are available on Facebook. The public is invited to recommend their favorite up-and-coming bands on Facebook now until May 31, 2011.
