The Bank of Ningbo operates branches mainly in the Yangtze River Delta region along with its credit businesses for small- and medium-sized enterprises. The bank must provide real-time monitoring for a huge number of its small and medium customers and complete evaluations of loan requests and credit risks. To fulfill these requirements, the bank needs an integrated data warehouse and a technology solution for data governance.
With the goal of maintaining its long-term core competitiveness, the Bank of Ningbo selected the Teradata Active Enterprise Data Warehouse 6650 and the Teradata Financial Services Logical Data Model to integrate data across the bank for a single view of business. Once implementation is completed, it will provide the scalability and agility unlike the old system. The new Teradata warehouse will not only meet both internal and external regulations and audit requirements, but also bolster information sharing within the bank. The Teradata system provides strong support for building information sources and making informed decisions.
Teradata will also provide data governance consulting service to the Bank of Ningbo, helping the bank build data governance capability, including an effective organization, management of data standards, data quality, and metadata. By designing fundamental data and risk standards, Teradata is assisting the bank to comply with China Banking Regulatory Commission regulations.
"We chose Teradata's data warehouse and governance consulting service to fulfill the requirements of managing the entire bank's data in an effective and integrated manner. We want to build our data governance capabilities while building a data warehouse and management platform, and bolstering our data services. We appreciate Teradata's support in maximizing the value of our data and sharpening our competitiveness in the market," said an official from the Bank of Ningbo.
"The need to manage and leverage huge amounts of data has driven the need for data governance, which supports data quality and enterprise-wide data analytics. Commercial banks can leverage the high quality data to help cut operating costs, meet regulatory requirements, while increasing business performance," said Aaron Hsin, president of Greater China Area, Teradata Corporation. "Teradata is the trusted partner of leading global commercial banks. We are happy to offer our experience and best practices in analytics to help the Bank of Ningbo achieve greater success."
