Bank of America Merrill Lynch Names C. John Mostofi Global Commercial Banking Midwest Region Executive
Eugene Godbold Continues to Lead National Commercial Real Estate Banking
CHICAGO, April 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Bank of America Merrill Lynch today announced that C. John Mostofi has been named Midwest Region executive for Global Commercial Banking. Mostofi succeeds Eugene (Gene) Godbold, who will continue to lead Commercial Real Estate Banking, a national business. Both are based in Chicago.

Mostofi, a native of Chicago, has more than 20 years of commercial lending experience and began his banking career at LaSalle Bank, N.A. in 1989. In his most recent position, he served as West Division president of Bank of America Business Capital, where he was responsible for asset-based loan origination, underwriting and relationship management for the geographic region extending from Chicago to California, and from Canada to Texas.
Mostofi earned a bachelor's degree in public accounting and a Master of Business Administration in finance from Loyola University in Chicago. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a member of the Commercial Finance Association, the Illinois CPA Society, the Association for Corporate Growth and the Executives' Club of Chicago. He is a FINRA Registered Principal and holds Series 7, 24 and 63 securities licenses.
During his 32 years with the company, Godbold has served in a number of senior executive and management positions throughout the company. In his role as Commercial Real Estate Banking president, Godbold leads a team of real estate professionals who provide project and corporate finance and comprehensive financial solutions for a broad array of clients including public and private Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) and funds, as well as commercial and residential development companies. With offices from coast-to-coast, Bank of America Commercial Real Estate Banking is the largest provider of commercial real estate financial services in the country.
He is a trustee of the Urban Land Institute and a board member of the Real Estate Roundtable.
