The contest began last week and will continue until March 18. Twelve finalists will be selected by public vote and the final winner will be chosen by Bang & Olufsen executives. The winning design will be manufactured in a limited edition series to be available for purchase later in 2012.

The competition runs through Bang & Olufsen's facebook site, where people are invited to upload a photo or design suggestion. Visitors to the competition page on Facebook will vote on the incoming design suggestions every week. Every two weeks, the three designs with the top voting scores will be selected to enter the Hall of Fame. After eight weeks Bang & Olufsen will select one Grand Prize winner among the 12 designs in the Hall of Fame.
The winning design will be manufactured by Bang & Olufsen and sold worldwide as a Limited Edition BeoSound 8.
