Banfield Pet Hospital® Searches For Most "Twinning" Pet And Owner Pair In The Twin Cities
World's Largest Veterinary Practice Drafts Former Minnesota Twins Legend Kent Hrbek to Judge Pet and Owner Look-A-Like Contest at the Bloomington Grand Opening
BLOOMINGTON, Minn., Aug. 11, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Banfield Pet Hospital prepares to see double, celebrating the grand opening of its newest location in Bloomington, Minn., located at 10520 France Ave S., with a Most "Twinning" Pet and Owner Look-A-Like Contest judged by Minnesota Twins Hall of Famer, Kent Hrbek. Pet owners and their doggie doppelgangers are invited to step up to the plate with Hrbek on Saturday, August 23, from 11 a.m. (registration at 10:30 a.m.) to noon, donning their most "twinning" attire for a chance to win a year's worth of free veterinary care through Banfield's Optimum Wellness Plan® and a pair of Dugout Box* tickets to a Minnesota Twins 2014 season game.
"One strike and you're out!" said Kent Hrbek. "I know what it takes to be a Twin in this town, so I'm excited to see what Twin City pet owners have in store for me! Like it or not, we all start to look like our pets after a while, but I'll be the judge of who steals home with the 'twinning' title. Win or lose, Bloomington-area pet owners can celebrate a new hospital in the community that's dedicated to keeping their pets happy and healthy."
Whether they share the same silky coat or a big wet nose, pet and owner pairs will be judged on how closely they resemble each other. One grand-prize winner will receive a year's worth of free preventive veterinary care through Banfield's Optimum Wellness Plan® as well as two Dugout Box tickets for a Minnesota Twins 2014 season game. Minneapolis-area pet owners can also enter for a chance to win the same grand prize at Banfield's locations in Minnetonka and Apple Valley, which celebrated their grand openings early this summer.
"We're excited to serve the Twin Cities by providing quality veterinary care for the community's pets," said Dr. Katherine Nielsen, lead veterinarian at the Bloomington hospital. "With three new standalone locations in Minnetonka, Apple Valley and Bloomington, we look forward to getting to know Minneapolis-area pets even better by establishing personal relationships with each pet owner to ensure pets receive the best care possible."
After pet and owner pairs strut their stuff in hopes of proving themselves a "twinning" pair, attendees are invited inside Banfield's new Bloomington location to meet the local veterinarians and sign-up for a Banfield Optimum Wellness Plan, a comprehensive package of veterinary services that provides pet owners in Bloomington with year-round preventive care. In addition, guests can enjoy refreshments, contests, giveaways, "Ask-the-Vet" sessions and hospital tours beginning at 9 a.m. To further commemorate the grand opening and give back to the loyal pet community, Banfield will provide free veterinary services to Luv Me Again Animal Rescue on Tuesday, Sept. 9 and Wednesday, Sept. 10, and will donate 20 percent of Banfield's opening weekend revenue to the organization.
MORE TAIL-WAGGING CHANCES TO WIN
Banfield Pet Hospital locations in Minnetonka, located at 4777 Country Rd. and Apple Valley, 15050 Cedar Ave., will also participate in the Twin City festivities. Pet owners are encouraged to visit either location from August 14 through August 23 to enter to win an Optimum Wellness Plan® and a pair of Dugout Box tickets to a Minnesota Twins 2014 season game. A winner will be drawn at random at each location.
The Banfield locations in Minnetonka, Apple Valley and Bloomington will be open Monday through Sunday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. with drop-offs beginning at 7 a.m. The hospitals are staffed by lead veterinarians with assistance from experienced veterinary technicians, veterinary assistants and support staff.
