Banff Offers Cure to Travelocity's Cabin Fever
BANFF NATIONAL PARK, AB, Jan. 14 /PRNewswire/ - Kurt Schroeder, director of communications for Banff Lake Louise Tourism, announced today that the remedy for this winter's Cabin Fever season has been identified in Banff National Park.
"The proactive measures put in place earlier this winter, including a busy schedule of festivals and events, our recommended daily dose of outdoor winter activities and our special offers have helped Banff to avoid the Cabin Fever outbreak that is gripping much of the country," said Schroeder.
Symptoms of Cabin Fever include itchy feet, involuntary yawning and an uncontrollable urge to sort and refold sweaters. In its advanced stages, Cabin Fever sufferers may decide to redecorate, subscribe to "all you can watch" cable TV packages, or join Twitter.
"This is great news for Banff and it should send a clear message to travelers wanting to avoid Cabin Fever," reiterated Schroeder. "Our 'safe haven' status clearly played a big role in Travelocity's Roaming Gnome selecting Banff as one of two possible Canadian locations to visit to cure his bad case of Cabin Fever."
Earlier this week, Travelocity announced a competition to choose Canada's favourite winter escape and the destination the online travel giant's Roaming Gnome would travel to cure his Cabin Fever. Consumers have until noon EST on January 20 to cast their vote for Banff/Lake Louise. Voting takes place on the Travelocity Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/travelocity
