Bandit Wonders if Sony and Nintendo Should Just Give Up?

"Microsoft announced on Monday that it has already sold one million Kinect for Xbox 360 units worldwide within the first 10 days since launch. The company added that it was on track to sell 5 million units by the end of the year, based on its estimates and the number of pre-orders for the system."

So not only has the buzz around the Kinect (the artist formerly known as Project Natal) been building for quite some time now, but it also looks like people are buying it. And as this is the first time anyone has released anything like this, consumers are in effect turning themselves into first movers, and if they like what they get, brand ambassadors.

But where does that leave the Sony Playstation and the Nintendo Wii? Maybe in the gutter...
