BANDIT Thinks the Premier League Has Grown a Conscience a Bit Too Late!
Football's choice, socialism or capitalism?!?
COPENHAGEN, Denmark, Aug. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- English football, or rather the Premier League, seem like they want to get closer to their fans.
Yes – you read that right.
The British product that is regularly marketed as the "best in the world'" or the "most entertaining in the world” wants to get back to basics. It wants to get back to being owned by the people, and have more of a positive social impact locally.
"We have explored the regulatory framework that currently exists in English football," it says, "and the question of football's social role and value is almost completely submerged beneath [clubs'] status as private companies.
"Clubs should adopt company objects that make clear their commitment to local communities, and set out ways in which this will be reported on an annual basis."
Sorry? This is the Premier League we're talking about – correct?
- Where players earn more in a week than the average person can earn in 5 years!
- Where ticket prices have sky rocketed!
- Where the price of a truly mediocre player is more than several Bugatti Veyron's.
Social impact? What can ever be social about that??
