Bambuser Powers World's First 24-Hour Virtual Tour of New York City

Those people not among the 49 million tourists that visit New York City every year are being given a revolutionary, digital helping hand to explore 'The city that never sleeps'.

Starting and finishing in Times Square on Tuesday, 1st November at 9am EDT, Hans Eriksson - executive chairman of the live mobile streaming application Bambuser (http://bambuser.com/) - will spend 24 hours exploring New York, broadcasting all he encounters live onto the web from his iPhone - with his itinerary selected by his online audience.

In an experiment showcasing the power of social media, Hans will seek the advice and tips from his internet viewers about where to go and what to see as he pounds the streets of the 'Big Apple'.

"I'm counting on New York living up to its reputation as the city that never sleeps," he said. "I want to avoid the usual traps tourists visit. Instead I'm hoping viewers of my broadcast will guide me to some of the local, lesser-known, hidden treasures the city offers.

"New Yorkers have a reputation of not being terribly open and friendly. I'm interested in how people I meet during my journey will react to me, to what I am doing and how helpful they will be.

"I know during the 24 hours I'm going get tired, hungry and thirsty. So, I appeal to the online audience and New Yorkers, for ideas about the coolest places I can go to chill out and refuel."
