VANCOUVER, Wash. and TOKYO, July 30, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Today Wacom® announces its second app for the Android platform. Bamboo™ Loop marries creative photo-sharing with messaging, meaning that photographs taken on a smartphone can be illustrated and personalized with drawings, scribbles, cartoons and words and forwarded to a friend, family member or colleague. 'Wish-you-were-here' messages or birthday greetings for example, become very personal and simple creative artworks. These 'digital cards' can then be returned by the recipient with a comment, a smiley face or a drawing of their own, so a card can 'loop' back and forth. It can also be shared on social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr and Google +.

The illustrations on the cards stand out due to the high quality 'inking' technology that enables quick and precise interaction with a pen or a finger on the surface of the smartphone. This provides a completely natural experience while drawing on a phone. Although Bamboo Loop is finger-friendly, for more control and detail on the smartphone an adequate stylus is recommended. For a range of available Bamboo Styli please see: http://bamboostylus.wacom.com.
Available for free download from Google Play, Bamboo Loop also offers a gallery of photo filters and shapes that can be extended by purchasing additional style packs at the price of USD 0.99. Available style packs include seasonal themes (summer for example), art paper, candy, pattern, fun and vintage.
Bamboo Loop was successfully launched for iPhone in May 2013 and can now also be downloaded for Android smartphones. Following Bamboo Paper, Bamboo Loop is the second app by Wacom that gets released for the increasingly popular Android operating system. Bamboo Paper is a highly successful app for note taking and sketching on iPad and selected Android smartphones by Samsung.
