WAYNE, N.J., Jan. 27, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Print and digital direct marketing company Ballantine recently worked with Montclair Kimberley Academy, one of New Jersey's largest and oldest independent, co-educational day schools, to develop and execute a fundraising campaign for the school targeting their alumni community. The campaign exceeded the school's fundraising goal by 150 percent.

Ballantine's one-day campaign for Montclair Kimberley Academy, or MKA, was designed to compress fundraising into a single day using a combination of print, email and social media touch points leading up to the fundraising event.
In the past, MKA had worked with Ballantine to execute fundraising campaigns over the course of the year to raise money for the school. While those campaigns were successful, MKA wanted to test an innovative method of fundraising that would better engage alumni. The single-day fundraising campaign was modeled after a similar campaign Ballantine had successfully implemented with another educational institution. That campaign has since evolved into an annual event.
Ballantine took the best practices from this previous experience and collaborated with MKA to create a fundraising event that matched the client's needs. The result was "MKA Day," a one-day fundraising event held on October 17, 2014. The event was promoted extensively for four weeks leading up to the day of the campaign, with Ballantine developing several types of engaging content to attract the attention of alumni, encouraging greater participation. These methods included postcard mailings, email blasts, personalized URLs and more.
MKA set a goal for the campaign to bring in 300 individual alumni donations. By the end of the event, the school had received 460 donations, or over 150 percent of its goal, in the amount of over $220,000. This is compared with $160,000 raised by the school in all of fiscal year 2014.
