In 1966, Thomas J. Coté founded Ballantine, a business that focused on pre-press and print production services. Two years later, his brother Charles joined the business. As the company grew and expanded, Charles' son Tom C. joined in 1978, followed by Tom's brother John in 1984. Over time, Tom C. and John took on more responsibility, and they transitioned into company management roles when Tom J. and Charles retired.
As industries, customers, and technology all changed and evolved, Ballantine has evolved along with them. The company expanded its scope in 1990 to include mailing services and in 2000, added copy and design as well as one-to-one marketing.
Ballantine entered the field of digital marketing in 2011 by offering SEO services to their clients. The company's digital marketing offerings have expanded significantly to include social media, paid search campaigns, content marketing and email marketing. In 2015, Ballantine moved to an expanded facility in Fairfield, NJ as part of their long term growth plans, which includes doubling their employee base over the next few years.
