Baird graduated from Brunswick Academy in 1977 and immediately joined his father and grandfather in the family business. Three generations worked side by side at Baird Pulpwood and Timber Sales for more than 20 years. Today, Baird and his father focus primarily on tree and cattle farming, and he also is involved in real estate.
"I've watched CCB grow from its early beginnings with my father, Garland W. Baird, as a founding member," says Baird. "Now, I have the opportunity to continue his legacy and help bring value to the shareholders. Equally important, I'm proud to be part of a vital community bank that makes personal relationships and customer service a top priority."
Baird lives in Brodnax with Chyrel, his wife of nearly 24 years. They have three children and four grandchildren who all live close by. In his free time, he enjoys horseback riding and spending time with his extended family. He is a member of Brodnax United Methodist Church and has hosted fundraising events for the church as well as the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. He also serves on the Community Memorial Healthcenter Board of Directors.
The CCB Board of Directors is a diverse body of leading businessmen and citizens charged with overseeing the bank's direction and growth plan. The board's additional members are R.T. Arnold; J.A. Barker; Matthew B. Glover; Denny Hardee; Thomas C. Manson; Norman D. Wagstaff, Jr.; Bill Solari; James A. Butts, III; William S. Wilkinson and Ronald S. Wells.
