Bahrain's Interior Ministry Implements National Dialogue Reforms
MANAMA, Bahrain, Sept. 14, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- During yesterday's National Dialogue implementation committee session, Bahrain's Interior Minister Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa briefed committee members on the progress of dialogue recommendations and confirmed implementations have already taken place.
Spurred by the National Dialogue, the ministry established a joint training initiative between armed forces and police for learning and carrying out proper protocol during public demonstrations. The ministry is also working to implement more National Dialogue outcomes such as reevaluating demonstration locations and times, ensuring march laws comply with children's rights and religious processions, as well as how to better protect naturalized citizens.
In addition, Minister Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa discussed the laws, amendments and executive procedures necessary to implement 16 more reforms, stressing the continuation of National Dialogue efforts.
