Bahrain's Innovative Waterfront Property Nominated for International Urban Planning Award
MANAMA, Bahrain, Sept. 26, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Bahrain will represent the GCC at tomorrow's Cityscape Global Awards in the "Master Planning" category, which recognizes industry best practices and new standards for urban design.
The Cityscape Global Awards in Dubai honor top real estate and property developments in the region, focusing on construction and architecture. Bahrain's $25 million waterfront property, Bahrain Bay, is the only GCC development to be nominated in the "Master Planning" category and will compete against other properties in China and India.
"This nomination is a testament to our philosophy of creating a contemporary urban environment inspired by Bahrain's rich heritage," Bahrain Bay CEO Bob Vincent said.
The property has already received the Arabian Commercial Property award for "Best Mixed Use Development, Arabia" and the Business Initiative Direction's "International Arch of Europe" award. The continued accolades set Bahrain Bay on a path to become the region's leading waterfront development, Bahrain Bay Deputy CEO Abdulla Al Doseri said.
"Skidmore, Owings & Merrill expertly translated our unique vision into reality, and we are now progressing well towards our goal of transforming the north shore of the capital of Bahrain into a modern, intelligent, sustainable community," he said.
