Bahrain's Ambassador to the United States Honors America's Veterans
WASHINGTON, Nov. 13, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- In a statement on her blog yesterday, Houda Nonoo, the Kingdom of Bahrain's Ambassador to the United States, thanked veterans for their service.
"Today, Americans honor and recognize the individuals who currently serve or who have served in their armed forces. As the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United States, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the veterans for their service to the United States and for their work safeguarding freedom around the world."
Ambassador Nonoo also noted the long-standing military alliance between the United States and Bahrain and its importance in the region.
"Bahrain has served as the home to the United States Navy's presence in the Arabian Gulf since 1948. Today, Bahrain is proud to be an important ally for the United States' military operations in the Middle East, and to be home to the United States Fifth Fleet. The ambassador also touched on the sacrifices made by the troops as they fought to ensure freedom for all.
