NEW YORK, April 6, 2021 /PRNewswire/ -- Hear Us Speak: Letters from Arab Women by Suzy Salman Kanoo, CEO and president of Khalil bin Ebrahim Kanoo Company and International Motor Trading Agency, is available now. The book is published with ForbesBooks, the exclusive business book publishing imprint of Forbes.
With her new book, Hear Us Speak, Suzy Kanoo brings marginalized voices—voices of Arab women—out of the shadows and into the light. Arab women from all walks of life were interviewed for her book, ranging from painters and journalists; wives, daughters, and mothers; entrepreneurs and refugees; social media influencers and ordinary citizens.
Many women who shared their stories with Kanoo survived physical and emotional abuse; many were incarcerated for expressing their opinions on social media; women whose husbands kidnapped their children and fled the country; women who worked harder but inherited less than their brothers, simply because they were women.
"My goal," Kanoo said, "is to introduce certain subjects that should be discussed, elevating voices that have often been relegated to the shadows. I believe it is crucial these voices be heard."
Hear Us Speak highlights the struggles that Arab women face but Kanoo's book is meant to advance the conversation about women's rights globally. The stories shared reveal common threads of dignity and resilience uniting marginalized voices across cultures and classes.
Hear Us Speak: Letters from Arab Women is available on Amazon today.
