Bahrain Launches First eKey System in Middle East for Secure Government Transactions

MANAMA, Bahrain, April 19, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Last week at the Bahrain International eGovernment Forum, Bahrain launched the first-ever "eKey system" in the Middle East for providing secure access to citizens on government e-service sites.

The eKey system, developed under the National Authentication Framework project with CrimsonLogic, aims to offer Bahrainis more efficient and secure government services.

Citizens can log in with a single authentication profile to all government e-service sites. The system requires three levels of security: password (PIN), smartcard and biometric (fingerprint) identity verification for maximum security.
