The Festive Sound and Vibrant Colored Costumes Will Mark The First Time The Bahamas' Culture Is Being Used To Usher in Its Opening
PLANTATION, Fla., Oct. 30, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Excitement is indeed in the air. In less than 24 hours, at 12:00 noon on October 31, the pulsating sounds of the warmed, goat skinned drums, cowbells whistles and horns will come alive as members of Colors Junkanoo Group parade the streets of Sea Breeze Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale to open the 59th Annual Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS). This year's show, which runs October 31 – November 4, marks the first time that The Bahamas' premier Junkanoo culture is being heralded as the featured opening act, for the four-day boat show.
Colors Junkanoo will lead attendees to the centrally located Bahamas Pavilion, booth #39, at Bahia Mar Yachting Center, 801 Sea Breeze Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale, for a full fanfare and junkanoo rush-out. More than 100,000 persons from 52 countries around the world are expected to attend this year's FLIBS, which will also showcase more than1500 in-water boats and 1200 exhibitors.
The Bahamas will have an impressive presence at this year's show. Its new 800 square feet branded booth, will include the first and newly released digital video wall from The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism and Aviation (BMOTA) and will geo-target The Bahamas' vertical markets: boating, fishing, diving, and aviation. Several of The Bahamas' leading industry partners including representatives from the Out Islands Promotion Board, Association of Bahamas Marinas as well as Bahamasair, Atlantis Marina, Bay Street Marina, Bluff House, Highbourne Cay Marina, Hope Town Inn and Marina, Odyssey Aviation, Palm Cay Marina, Grand Bahama Yacht Club, Resorts World Bimini, Romora Bay Resort and Marina, Staniel Cay Yacht Club, Watermakers Air, Treasure Cay Beach Hotel and Marina, Valentine's Resort and Marina, Tropic Ocean Airways and the Chat n Chill Bar and Restaurant will also be featured inside The Bahamas' branded booth.
