ARLINGTON, Va., Jan. 31, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Baby sleep expert Dr. Harvey Karp, the "Sleep Doctor" Dr. Michael Breus, renowned sleep specialist Dr. Chris Winter, director of the Sleep Matters Initiative at Brigham and Women's Hospital Charles Czeisler, Headspace's editorial director for sleep Will Fowler, Smart Nora CEO Behrouz Hariri, and Eight CEO Matteo Franceschetti are among the top speakers for the first-ever Sleep Show®, March 8-10 at the Houston Convention Center. The National Sleep Foundation today unveiled a roster of more than 80 experts who will discuss topics like sleep and the teen mental health crisis, new technologies built to optimize sleep and how to stop your partner from snoring.
"These speakers are true trailblazers in science, technology and consumer health and they are transforming the way consumers think of sleep," said David Cloud, CEO of the National Sleep Foundation. "We're excited to welcome them to our stages in March and look forward to insights that will help us all get a better night's rest."
According to the recent Sleep in America® Poll, 60 percent of Americans don't take sleep into account when planning their day, meaning they don't prioritize sleep. Sleep Show education sessions intend to change that, highlighting essential topics from around the industry and helping people improve their sleeping habits. Attendees will learn from top minds in the industry about using tech and science to improve sleep, the effects of insomnia and sleep apnea, the science of dreams, and they'll even hear what it's like to sleep in space from a NASA astronaut.
"People of all ages, from babies to adults, can experience better sleep thanks to science-based advancements," said Dr. Harvey Karp, assistant professor of pediatrics at the USC Medical School. "The National Sleep Foundation has pulled together more than eighty top-notch speakers for the Sleep Show, and I'm excited to stand among them to educate attendees on our industry's latest thinking and innovation."
