Babson Develops First Entrepreneurship Policy and Development Program
WELLESLEY, Mass., Jan. 13, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Babson College, the world's leading institution for entrepreneurship education, has developed the first Entrepreneurship Policy and Development Program specifically designed to guide public and private sector leaders and policy makers in creating and applying entrepreneurship policy in their societies, using the most advanced concepts, methods, cases and practices in the field. The ground-breaking program will be offered from March 10 - 13, 2014.
According to Faculty Director Daniel Isenberg, a global consensus is emerging among world leaders that entrepreneurship is one of the key strategies for economic growth and development. "Our Entrepreneurship Policy and Development Program explores how leaders can integrate the entrepreneurship drivers such as policy, markets, finance, human capital, culture, and institutional supports, that must come together to create entrepreneurship ecosystems in which ventures can grow, not just get started," said Isenberg.
During Babson's four-day executive education program, public policy makers, civic leaders, foundation heads and executives, and their private sector counterparts will work to develop new action plans to cultivate growth-focused environments in their home regions around the world.
Program Topics
- Avoiding common mistakes in public support of entrepreneurship
- Clarifying the assumptions about entrepreneurship, micro-enterprise, SME policies, startups, and scaleups
- Setting entrepreneurship objectives and measuring outcomes
- Assessing the strengths and weaknesses of the entrepreneurship ecosystem
- Learning the differences between best practices and best processes
- Planning and implementing entrepreneurship policy action programs
- Developing effective public messaging to support growth entrepreneurship
- Developing growth-driven digital communities using social and traditional media
- Increasing the effectiveness and coordination of various entrepreneurship development agencies
- Clarifying the do's and don'ts of using public funding in entrepreneurial finance markets
