Babson College's First Day's Lesson Is on Social Responsibility
WELLESLEY, Mass., Aug. 27 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Babson College students, faculty, and staff will commit the first day of this school year to social value activities.
The August 31st "From Day One: Making A Difference" program is a new campus-wide tradition rooted in student interest in quickly learning how to balance making money while achieving a social purpose. From Day One will introduce students to resources and opportunities that can influence thinking about how to make a difference.

Events, created in partnership with the Lewis Institute and the Office of Sustainability, include:
Roundtable Discussions with social entrepreneurs and leading Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Fortune 1000 company leaders, including:
- Cause Consulting,
- Fidelity,
- Grand Circle Travel,
- IBM,
- Monster Worldwide,
- National Grid,
- Ocean Spray,
- One Hen,
- Paradigm Properties,
- Sodexo, and
- State Street.
Community service volunteer opportunities with local and greater Boston non-profits, including:
- Friends of the Homeless of the South Shore,

Eat, Drink and Be Sustainable in the "Babson Sustainable Kitchen." Chef Sam Mansfield and the Sodexo team will use recycled materials, sustainable cooking methods, locally grown vegetables, and free range meats to provide a sustainable dining experience.
Jamie Kent, Babson graduate/musician, will provide music and entertainment.
