Babson College Named One of the Top 'Colleges That Pay You Back' By The Princeton Review
Babson Nationally Ranked No. 14 for 'Return on Education' and No. 7 for Career Placement.
WELLESLEY, Mass., Feb. 17, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Babson College is profiled as one of the "outstanding" colleges in The Princeton Review's Colleges That Pay You Back: The 200 Best Value Colleges and What It Takes to Get In - 2015 Edition (Penguin Random House/Princeton Review), a new guide to the nation's academically best and most affordable colleges that also have excellent records of alumni employment. The book and online resource address two of the major concerns of college applicants and their parents: paying for college and graduating with a good job and paycheck.
According to The Princeton Review, Babson is ranked No. 14 among the top 50 of Colleges That Pay You Back. In profiling Babson, The Princeton Review praises the school as a college that deftly balances a liberal arts curriculum with a "world-class business education" and quotes Babson students who described the college as offering "excellent financial aid."
"We salute and highly recommend Babson College and all of our Colleges That Pay You Back schools," said Robert Franek, The Princeton Review's senior vice president/publisher and lead author of the book. "They stand out for their excellent academics, impressive career preparation services, and affordability to students with need—via comparatively low sticker prices, generous financial aid, or both. Plus their students graduate with great career prospects."
Babson also ranked No. 7 in the country for Best Career Placement with a high Return-on-Education (ROE) rating score of 97. The profile reports PayScale.com figures on median salaries of Babson's alumni, showing the median starting salary as $59,700 and median mid-career salary as $123,000. It also reports 85 percent of alumni with high job satisfaction.
"We are thrilled The Princeton Review has recognized the commitment and hard work of Babson's faculty and staff in providing a high-value, superior education that prepares students to create great economic and social value everywhere," said Scott Moore, dean of the Undergraduate School at Babson College.
Methodology
In this new edition of the book, The Princeton Review recommends the colleges it considers the nation's best for academics, affordability, and career prospects. The selections are based on a ROE rating developed for this project. The Princeton Review's methodology weighted more than 40 data points and drew from data collected via surveys conducted in 2013–2014 of administrators at 650 colleges and of students at the schools. Data from PayScale.com surveys—conducted through April 2014 of alumni at those same schools—was also incorporated.
