BA Insight's Longitude Software Receives Certificate of Networthiness (CoN) from U.S. Army
Certification clears BA Insight's integrated search technologies for deployment within the US Army's IT infrastructure
NEW YORK, March 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The U.S. Army Network Enterprise Technology Command (NETCOM) announced that it has granted the U.S. Army Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center (DLIFLC) a Certificate of Networthiness for its use of BA Insight's Longitude software, technology which extends the search capabilities of Microsoft SharePoint and FAST Search Server for SharePoint. The certificate is required for all external software that is deployed on the U.S. Army's networks. Following a rigorous, three-month reliability and security assessment, NETCOM has confirmed that BA Insight's search integration and enhancement technologies exceed U.S. Army requirements for security, reliability, scalability, and interoperability with the organization's existing networks and IT infrastructure.
"BA Insight is honored and proud to receive the Certificate of Networthiness from the U.S. Army," said Jim Justice, Director of U.S. Federal Business at BA Insight. "We are committed to delivering the most powerful and scalable information access technologies to the U.S. Armed Forces, and this certification will allow us to more fully support the Army as it continues to optimize its information search protocols."
BA Insight's Longitude solution will be a critical component of the search-optimization initiative being undertaken at the U.S. Army Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center (DLIFLC). Part of the Army Training and Doctrine Command, DLIFLC is a multi-service school for active and reserve components, foreign military students, and civilian personnel working in the federal government and various law enforcement agencies -- providing resident instruction in 24 languages and several dialects.
Because the DLIFLC is stewarding an ever-increasing volume of mission-critical data within its Microsoft SharePoint environments, one of the Center's primary objectives has been to make sure this data can be swiftly and securely searched for, and efficiently assessed for relevance by end users. To help meet this objective, DLIFLC is leveraging BA Insight's Longitude software, which will provide end users with instant preview capabilities for all search result content regardless of file-type or source, and provide the ability to quickly assemble composite, fully formatted documents and reports from disparate search results.
