Azzad representative to speak on Islamic finance at Johns Hopkins University

FALLS CHURCH, Va., Feb. 19, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- On Tuesday, February 25th, Azzad Asset Management Investment Communications Director Joshua Brockwell will present at a panel on Islamic finance and socially responsible investing at Johns Hopkins University's School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). The event, sponsored by the DC Interfaith Network and the SAIS Student Middle East and North Africa Club at Johns Hopkins University, aims to demystify Islamic finance and investing.

Mr. Brockwell's remarks will focus on how values-conscious investors can remain committed to their principles using Islamic alternatives to traditional interest-bearing fixed-income products. The giving and taking of interest is largely recognized as prohibited in Islam.
