Boston Society of Landscape Architect Design Challenge Winner Sarah Carrier to Showcase the Project at New England GROWS
SKOKIE, Ill., Nov. 29, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The first Boston Society of Landscape Architect's (BSLA) Design Challenge has recognized Sarah Carrier, a playground design consultant for Goric Playgrounds, for her winning project, "Akimbo." The playful geometric design for public seating inspired by children's blocks and the human figure, was handcrafted by Walpole Outdoors, featuring AZEK® Trim and Sherwin-Williams paint. It will be on display at the New England GROWS Expo from November 30th to December 2nd at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center.
The BSLA and New England GROWS conceived the design challenge to promote landscape architecture while highlighting adaptability and concept uniqueness. In creating a product for parks, schools, and cityscapes, Carrier's "Akimbo" resulted in fun, imaginative shapes that can be moved around and provide a comfortable seating height for groups of people.
Walpole Outdoors, the largest fabricator of AZEK Trim in the country, handcrafted the functional installation of the donated, high performance AZEK Sheets PVC Trim. The low-maintenance product requires specific skills and advanced technology to produce an exceptional, long-lasting end result.

Walpole Outdoors also worked closely with Sherwin-Williams to complete the user-friendly "Akimbo" project and ensure a flawless paint application to the AZEK Trim.
