IRVINE, Calif., Jan. 5, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Ayn Rand Institute (ARI), the leading center for the advancement of Ayn Rand's writings and her philosophy of Objectivism, announced today that its board of directors has unanimously chosen Jim Brown as the Institute's new chief executive officer. Yaron Brook will continue as president and assume the top leadership role at ARI, focusing on strategy and on building ARI's global presence as its chief spokesman.

For over 18 years, Brown has been involved with ARI and Objectivism as a consultant and contributor and as an activist for the philosophy of Ayn Rand. He recently served as a partner at Brandes Investment Partners, capping a 30-year career in finance. Prior to this, he served in the United States Air Force as a pilot, flight instructor, flight commander and squadron commander. Brown holds a bachelor of science in political science from the United States Air Force Academy, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
