LOS ANGELES, Sept. 23, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- AXS TV CONCERTS is bringing one of the most anticipated music festivals on the annual calendar – Zac Brown's Southern Ground Music & Food Festival – to its viewers on Friday, September 27 and Saturday, September 28. The annual music and food festival curated by musician Zac Brown, will be broadcast live from The Great Lawn at Riverfront Park in downtown Nashville, TN. Over two nights, AXS TV will be broadcasting live from the festival for a total of 15 hours, bringing viewers more than 16 live performances as they happen, so close to the action, they can taste and hear it. AXS TV will feature the festival Friday from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. ET (3 p.m. to 10 p.m. PT) and Saturday from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. ET (2 p.m. to 10 p.m. PT).
AXS TV's exclusive and extensive live coverage will include not only the sounds of the festival, but the sights and attractions as well, offering viewers an authentic feast for the senses. Southern Ground Executive Chef Rusty Hamlin, "Top Chef" winner Stephanie Izard, and world class chefs Giussepe Tentori and Shon Foster will serve up gourmet concessions, cooking demonstrations, and a foodie experience to match the top-notch talent on-stage.
As is a tradition at the festival, 3-time GRAMMY® Award winners Zac Brown Band will headline each night with their collaborative "super sets" that include other top artists as sit-in performers. AXS TV will bring several of these collaborations to the telecast, including special guests Jason Mraz, John Fogerty, and Clare Bowen from ABC's hit TV show "Nashville." Other headline acts appearing on the telecast include Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, musical icon Willie Nelson & Family, and Eli Young Band. Also confirmed to perform on AXS TV are Kacey Musgraves, The Head and the Heart, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Dawes, Blackberry Smoke, The Wood Brothers, Clay Cook, John Driskell Hopkins & The Mosier Brothers Band, Coy Bowles & The Fellowship, Levi Lowrey, Niko Moon, DUGAS, AJ Ghent Band, and Brothers Road.
