LOS ANGELES, Sept. 26, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- AXS, a leading ticketing, data and marketing solutions company, is delivering innovative, mobile-first, identity-based ticketing to Japan through a partnership with Passrevo. Passrevo is a joint venture ticketing company established by Yahoo Japan Corporation and Avex Entertainment Inc., and operates a ticket sales site, "Yahoo! Tickets." Avex Entertainment Inc. is a major entertainment company in Japan and Yahoo Japan is one of the largest internet companies in the country.
"We are excited to bring our cutting-edge ticketing technology and enter a new market in Japan," said Bryan Perez, CEO of AXS. "Our technology, combined with the power of our partners, Avex Entertainment and Yahoo Japan, will revolutionize the ticket purchasing experience in Japan."
AXS will provide its state-of-the-art ticketing technology to Passrevo to power "Yahoo! Tickets" for the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks of the Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) league beginning in October with the sale of playoff tickets.
AXS introduced itself to Japanese consumers by providing the first-ever use in Japan of RFID access control technology at ULTRA Japan, one of Japan's largest music festivals that was held September 15-17. All patrons were given ID-based RFID wristbands that facilitated their entry into the venue during the three-day festival and provided great customer data to the event promoters.
"We want to revitalize the ticketing market here. By introducing advanced technology based on US ticketing technology with AXS, we will make it easier for Japanese music and sports fans to attend live events," said Yuki Tateyama, Executive Vice President of Passrevo.
