NEW CASTLE, Pa., Aug. 10, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Axion Power International Inc. (OTCQB: AXPW), earlier this year, was awarded their 14th and 15th patents, while in June one of the same patents was granted in China, bringing their total patents in China to four.
In February, Axion Power was granted U.S. patent #9,251,969 for the process used to manufacture lead carbon sheets for the negative electrode. The same patent was granted in China as #ZL201280032855.1 on June 22. Axion holds four patents in China, as well as in 12 other countries outside of the U.S.
U.S. Patent #9,350,024 was granted May 24 and covers the lead carbon battery current collector shielding component with ported packets used in production of Axion Power's PbC® Batteries.
Axion Power produces the only batteries with an all-carbon negative electrode PbC Batteries are reliable, recharge quickly, will operate in a partial state charge, offer a longer cycle life than typical lead-acid batteries, are safe and maintenance free and nearly 100 percent recyclable.

Axion Power is currently in discussions to bring PbC Technology to the Peoples Republic of China. These negotiations were first announced in 2015 and have continued to date. In addition to the four patents currently held in China, Axion Power has one patent pending in that country as well.
