AXA XL Launches Dedicated Excess & Surplus Insurance Company: "AXA XL E&S"

NEW YORK, Sept. 30, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- AXA XL today announced the launch of AXA XL Excess & Surplus Lines Insurance Company ("AXA XL E&S"), a dedicated legal entity established to exclusively serve wholesale brokers. This strategic move enhances AXA XL's underwriting focus and capabilities within the Excess & Surplus (E&S) insurance market, reinforcing its commitment to providing tailored, innovative solutions through a specialized distribution channel.

Operating alongside existing AXA XL entities and participating in the same AXA XL pool as Indian Harbor Insurance Company, AXA XL E&S will serve as a dedicated carrier, solely focused on wholesale broker relationships. It will issue policies developed by AXA XL in collaboration with wholesale brokers nationwide.

The launch will be synchronized with the rollout of AXA XL's new digital platform, Guidewire, which will serve as the E&S policy administration system starting 2027. E&S Casualty new business will be underwritten by AXA XL E&S beginning in early 2027, with current policies transitioning to the new entity in mid 2027. E&S Property business will follow suit in latter 2027. During this transition, existing products and rates will remain unchanged to ensure continuity and stability for brokers and clients.

AXA XL E&S benefits from strong financial backing, with AM Best awarding it a Financial Strength Rating of A+ (Superior) on March 25, 2026, and S&P rating it AA as of April 1, 2026. These ratings reflect AXA XL's solid financial foundation and confidence in its long-term stability.
