AWS Direct Connect Now Available in Columbus with Cologix

DENVER and COLUMBUS, Ohio, June 1, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Customers in the Midwest planning to build hybrid cloud deployments with Amazon's Web Services (AWS) cloud just found an easier route to do so via Cologix's data center in Columbus, OH.  Cologix, a network neutral interconnection and data center company, announced today the availability of AWS Direct Connect cloud service in its Columbus data center.  With AWS Direct Connect, customers can connect their infrastructure via a secure and private connection to the AWS Cloud to improve performance and reduce costs compared to onramps via the public Internet.

The Columbus deployment of AWS Direct Connect with Cologix provides customers low-latency access to AWS US East 2 region.  The node will reside at Cologix's Columbus data center campus, where more than 50 network service providers are available in the Meet-Me-Room.  The connectivity at this location provides for direct end user connections and a broad set of potential AWS Partner Network (APN Partners), who can bring secure connections from endpoints throughout the region to the AWS Direct Connect onramp. 

Cologix recently announced a new 160K SQF enterprise grade data center build on its 8 acre campus, which will offer 18+MW of power.  The new $130M+ facility will become the largest and most advanced neutral data center in the region and will be directly linked to Cologix's existing data centers.
