Awareness Technologies Announces Chief Channel Officer
Former MX Logic and Vericept Channel Veteran Ken Totura to Build Channel Program for Leading Data Loss Prevention SaaS Provider
LOS ANGELES, June 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Awareness Technologies, Inc. ("ATI"), the leading provider of complete internal threat protection for small, medium and enterprise businesses, has appointed Ken Totura as Chief Channel Officer. The addition also kicks off a strategic partner recruiting program that will add service distributors, managed service providers, systems integrators, value-added resellers and network consultants to the company's sales structure.
"Ken's successes delivering DLP as well as 80% of managed services revenue through the channel is perfect for ATI," said CEO Brad Miller. "This product is one of the most channel-ready offerings the IT industry has ever seen, and with Ken's leadership, we expect to see significant momentum in the market."
ATI's unique technology redefines internal threat protection by combining four crucial functions – Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Web Filtering, Laptop Recovery and Employee Monitoring – into a single agent installed at the network endpoint. Further, the highly automated nature of the software creates far less channel friction, making the sales process much easier for end users. A free trial of the "try by install" offering is just a mouse click away.
Taking the cost and complexity out of DLP
"ATI has the most distinctive software-as-a-service offering to hit the market in some time," said Totura. "Data loss prevention is a hot topic, but has been too costly and complex for most companies to adopt. By delivering DLP at the end-point in a SaaS mode, ATI has removed the obstacle to widespread adoption. The channel should love this value proposition."
Like Miller, Totura drove success for a leading SaaS business with a major channel presence. He was most recently VP of Channel Sales for MX Logic, a leading email and Web-defense managed service provider recently purchased by McAfee. There, Totura rebuilt the company's channel program, turning it into an industry-recognized and award-winning partner and distributor program leveraging cloud-based subscription revenue.
Previously, he was director of partner development for Vericept Corporation, a leading DLP software provider, where he managed a hybrid channel strategy focused on highly specialized solution providers. Early on, Totura turned around an unprofitable branch of Inacom Information Systems, a Fortune 50 global provider of distributed IT products and services; and CW Electronics, a Connecting Point reseller. He was an instrumental part of two services start-up divisions within IBM; and transferring Intelligent Electronic's service programs and communities to Ingram Micro.
He currently sits on the executive committee of the Channel Vanguard Council, a collaborative group of solution providers working to create tools that aid the business maturation of the channel.
Adding cloud-savvy MSPs, VARs, distributors
The strategic partner recruitment program will be focused primarily in the United States, focusing on MSPs, VARs and distributors with SaaS expertise.
"We're building a channel-centric partner program that will make it easy for our partners to quickly add 'insider threat' solutions delivered as a service to their line card," added Totura. "ATI's commitment to friction-free service makes it easy for end customers to evaluate, implement and manage these important solutions."
