The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation Analyst Notes
On May 14, 2014, The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation (BNY Mellon) reported that its Boston-based fixed income investment boutique, Standish Mellon Asset Management Company LLC, (Standish) is expecting a quick end to the soft patch in the U.S. economic growth and an increase in the annual rate of real gross domestic product growth to between 2.5% and 3.0% in Q2 2014. As per Standish, U.S. economy is expected to resume expansion as Euro area performs better than expected and anticipates further easing by European Central Bank as its inflation forecast still appears too high. According to Standish's observations, the harsh winter weather held U.S. growth in Q1 2014 to a weak annual rate of 0.1% and it expects a recent increase in hiring to boost consumer spending and in turn help to lift growth. SodaStream International Ltd. Analyst Notes
On May 14, 2014, SodaStream International Ltd. (SodaStream) announced financial results for Q1 2014. As per the Company, gross margin for Q1 2014 declined to 52.3% during the quarter from 54.5% for Q1 2013, due to unfavorable changes in foreign currency exchange rates and increased share of higher-cost soda makers in the sales mix, which was partially offset by a higher share of CO2 refills in product mix. The Company reported Q1 2014 total revenues of $118.2 million, up 0.5% YoY. Reuters' analysts estimated Company to report revenues of $117.96 million for Q1 2014. SodaStream's net EPS was $0.08 in Q1 2014 as compared to $0.57 in Q1 2013. On average, 11 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected earnings per share of $0.01 for the quarter (excluding one-time items). On the same day, SodaStream's stock closed at $40.62, down by 1.22%. SeaDrill Limited Analyst Notes
On May 7, 2014, SeaDrill Limited (SeaDrill) reported its disclosure regarding Sevan Drilling ASA. The Company referred to the press releases dated January 30, 2013, February 7, 2013, May 10, 2013, August 7, 2013, August 29, 2013, November 7, 2013 and February 7, 2014, which announced the forward agreements for Seadrill's holdings in Sevan Drilling ASA shares. Seadrill informed that it has rolled forward these agreements following the expiration of previous agreements'. The Company informed that it has entered into a forward agreement for 216.1 million Sevan shares, expiring August 6, 2014 with a strike price of (Norwegian krone) NOK 4.1056. In addition to this, Seadrill has entered into a forward agreement for 81.8 million Sevan shares expiring August 6, 2014 with a strike price of NOK 4.1348. The Company stated that it controls 297.9 million shares of Sevan, either through direct ownership or forward agreements, representing 50.11% of all issued shares of Sevan.
