Award-winning Ponce Buenos Aires Creative Hernan Cerdeiro Lands at Alma Miami
MIAMI, June 28, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Luis Miguel Messianu, President and CCO at Alma, announced today the hiring of Hernan Cerdeiro as the agency's new VP Group Creative Director.
Cerdeiro jumped to Alma from Ponce Buenos Aires, one of Argentina's most lauded creative agencies. He will partner with Alma's new Senior VP Executive Creative Director, Diego Yurkievich, who joined the team in January after a successful run at Global Hue in New York. Working under the direction of Luis Miguel Messianu, the pair's complementary skill sets will significantly up the ante for the creative group at Alma.
Cerdeiro has created campaigns for Axe, Sprite, Coca-Cola, Quilmes, Visa and MTV to name a few. In his 12-year career he has also worked for Craverolanis, Ogilvy Argentina, Young & Rubicam and McCann Erickson.
"Alma is a mature agency with the desire and hunger of a start-up," explained Cerdeiro of his decision to join Alma. "There are many opportunities that lie ahead of us and I'm thrilled to be part of this change."
Cerdeiro brings with him an impressive track record of industry recognition, including Cannes Lions, Clios, and the Grand Prix in El Sol de San Sebastian and in the Circulo Creativo in Argentina as well as many other awards at festivals in New York, London, FIAP, World Press and the Ojo de Iberoamerica. He was also appointed by the Young Guns as one of the 20 most awarded creatives of 2006 and garnered a Gold Bullet from the same organization.
"The addition of Hernan culminates a process of creative transformation at the agency," revealed Luis Miguel Messianu, who has been steadily attracting top-tier talent to the growing agency for the past two years. "I am extremely proud to have assembled this combination of talent, experience, and overwhelming passion to grow our client's brands by connecting in an original and relevant manner with consumers."
For Diego Yurkievich, this latest hiring coupe will mean more and better results for clients and the agency. "His skills and experience, coupled with the exact moment Hernan is at in his career makes him the ideal person to join us," he said. "We had many conversations and we realized that we were both at similar stages in our careers with matching philosophies. We both have a goal to lead the transformation Alma has already started."
Yurkievich also announced promotions and other changes to the creative department. Like the rest of the agency, this team enjoys the creative benefits of having members from nearly every country in the Spanish-speaking world. Monica Marulanda was promoted to Senior Creative Director, Juan Lagos to Creative Director and Nour Da Silva and Monserrat Valera were both promoted to Associate Creative Directors. Silvia Checa is the new Art Director and Danilo Lauria has joined as Copywriter to the team.
"We couldn't be happier about this new journey we have embarked on and a new team to move forward with," said Yurkievich.
