BRADENTON, Fla., May 2, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Mirabella Florida, developers of the most environmentally friendly homes in Florida that feature LEED® PLATINUM, EnergyStar® and HERS® certification, today introduced the Florentina and Mikaela models, two new three-bedroom additions to their two existing two-bedroom floor plans. With the addition of the three bedroom properties, the number of homes in the Mirabella community will now total 160.
"We've seen many buyers wanting additional space for family and grandkids to visit in an environment that felt like more like a community and less isolated than the previous single-family homes they were used to," said Mirabella's lead developer Marshall Gobuty. "Being environmentally sound, sustainable and friendly to the Earth is an added benefit that attracts the buyers who are willing to pay a little bit more upfront for something that will save them thousands of dollars down the road on utility cost and upkeep."
Mirabella's two new three-bedroom models start at $336,930 and $339,930 for 1,764 square feet compared to the original two-bedroom villa homes which start at $293,939 and offer 1,524 square feet of living space. Comparable homes to the Florentina available on Florida's Gulf Coast that lack the environmentally-friendly features of a LEED certified home start in the low-to-mid $300,000's.
"We've been living at Mirabella since becoming home buyer number thirty-four," said Donna and Chuck Duemmel, who moved from Orlando to Mirabella. "Our experience from the day we first looked at the Villas at Mirabella until now has been more than we could have ever expected in coastal living. Everything has been thought of with the homebuyer and resident in mind. We could not be more pleased."
All of Mirabella's homes are EnergyStar and HERS as well as LEED Platinum certified. This three-pronged approach provides for even more cost-saving and energy-efficient advantages for active adult homebuyers.
By offering LEED-certified homes Mirabella provides buyers with homes that provide clean indoor air, are built with safe materials, use less energy and water, and have lower utility bills each month. Retirees living on a fixed income also benefit from owning a green home in Mirabella because they save money on their utility bills each month while also enjoying the long-term financial benefits they receive from tax breaks, zoning allowances, and increased property values.
To receive LEED certification, each home must earn points in five green design categories: sustainable sites, water efficiency, energy and atmosphere, materials and resources, and indoor environmental quality. The number of points accrued from these categories determines which of the four levels of LEED certification has been reached: Certified, Silver, Gold, or Platinum, with every completed home at Mirabella certified at the Platinum level.
Mirabella has earned the highest certification level, Platinum, acknowledging it as a unique and healthy environment for active adults and making one of the few communities to achieve this level of certification across the country.
Mirabella's LEED certified homes use nearly 40 percent less energy than what is used in a typical home. They also feature Energy Star appliances manufactured by companies including GE, Carrier, Timberlake Cabinets, Shaw Flooring, Atrium windows and Cybex training equipment. Plumbing features include EPA WaterSense faucets, toilets, showers and Hunter irrigation controllers, which help reduce water consumption significantly — with no reduction in overall performance. Homes are inspected for quality control during each phase of the building process.
Mirabella promotes an active adult lifestyle and features first-class amenities. These include gated entry with 24-hour security cameras, an Amenity Center, heated swimming pool and spa, fenced-in dog park, pickleball courts, a modern fitness center featuring Cybex equipment, and an outdoor kitchen and barbecue area along with Mirabella's famous Gazebos and Firepits for evening community events. Additionally, with an activities coordinator, planned events are aimed at bringing the community together.
