Award-Winning Democratic Pollster and Strategist Margie Omero Joins Penn Schoen Berland to Lead Public Affairs Practice
WASHINGTON, May 9, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Penn Schoen Berland (PSB), a global research-based consultancy, announced today that Margie Omero has joined the firm as Executive Vice President and will lead its U.S. Public Affairs practice. She is based in Washington, D.C.
"PSB has a strong heritage in politics and public affairs, and Margie is a great addition to our team," said Curtis Freet, CEO of PSB, to whom Omero will report. "She brings exceptional experience to PSB and will help ensure that we continue to offer best-in-class political and public affairs research to our clients." Omero will focus on expanding PSB's political and policy work in Washington, D.C., and throughout the U.S., and will be a strong advocate for the power of data-driven insight in communications campaigns for clients at both PSB and sister firm Burson-Marsteller.
Before joining PSB, Omero was Managing Director of Purple Insights, the research division of Purple Strategies, where she provided research and strategic communications counsel for some of the world's biggest brands, non-profits and advocacy groups including Walmart, Center for American Progress, Everytown for Gun Safety, Kellogg's and McDonald's.
Before joining Purple in 2013, Omero was Founder and President of Momentum Analysis, a boutique Democratic polling firm she founded in 2001. There she was lead researcher for nearly three dozen Congressional races and was the Democratic lead researcher and spokesperson for the ongoing, multi-year "Walmart Moms" project, which continues to be covered by top political press around the country. Omero began her career with The Mellman Group.
"I am thrilled to join the world-class talent at PSB and to continue doing the political work that is my passion," said Omero. "I look forward to addressing the issues facing our clients through a political lens and to building new and strong relationships between the political community and the powerful PSB brand."
Omero frequently appears on major news outlets such as CNN, MSNBC, Fox, and NPR, and co-hosts "The Pollsters," a top political podcast discussing the top polling stories driving the week's news in politics, technology, business, and pop culture. She has been named a "Politico to Watch" by POLITICO, "Rookie of the Year" by the American Association of Political Consultants and a "Young Woman of Achievement" by the Women's Information Network.
