Avondale Partners Expands Research Coverage in Business Services Sector

NASHVILLE, Tenn., June 28, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Avondale Partners, a national investment banking firm headquartered in Nashville, today announced the continued expansion of its equity research department in Nashville with the addition of Richard Close as a Director and Senior Research Analyst focused on the Healthcare Technology and Services Sector.  

Close has received national recognition for his work covering multiple sectors during his twelve years as a senior equity analyst. He was awarded "Best on the Street" by the Wall Street Journal in 2001, 2003 and 2005 for the Consumer Services sector, as well as the Specialty Retailer & Services sector.  He was also recognized as a "Home-Run Hitter" for stock-picking in 2001 by the Wall Street Journal.  Additionally, Richard was cited as the top-ranked Earnings Estimator and third ranked stock-picker by StarMine in 2009 in the Healthcare Technology sector. StarMine also awarded him the #1 Earnings Estimator in 2007 for Healthcare Technology and top-ten Stock Picker for Commercial Services in 2005.

He began his financial services career at Montgomery Securities and Montgomery Asset Management.

Close is a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics, and was awarded the College of Liberal Arts Distinguished Alumni of the Year award in 2005.
