DALLAS, April 25, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Aviall, a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, has signed an exclusive worldwide distribution agreement with Fire Containment Concepts to distribute its PED FIRE-SAFE product.
The PED FIRE-SAFE is a fireproof bag with a patented internal extinguishing system to completely mitigate any fire and overheating risks for phones, laptops, headphones or other electronic devices in flight. Differing from other products of its type, the PED FIRE-SAFE utilizes an automatic suppression system to monitor the product's temperature, and deploys an aqueous agent within the product to cool and suppress related fires if needed. According to Federal Aviation Administration reports, there has been at least 152 air or airport incidents involving lithium batteries in devices carried as baggage or cargo.
"Fire Containment Concepts is excited to announce our exclusive distribution agreement with Aviall and their global presence will assure that our products can be easily purchased and serviced across the globe," stated Fire Containment Concepts President and CEO Brian Burkett. "We were approached by many suppliers around the world, however Aviall was the right partner for us and our new PED FIRE-SAFE fire containment system was the right product for them to distribute. There isn't a better company to launch our newest fire containment system to the aviation industry."
"With safety at the forefront of what we do each and every day as a company, Aviall is proud to partner with Fire Containment Concepts in distributing this high-quality product aimed at increasing the overall safety environment for airline companies and customers around the world," stated Eric Strafel, Aviall President & CEO. "We look forward to a productive global relationship in providing this innovative device to the aviation marketplace."
