Aviall repeats honor as Military Friendly Employer
DALLAS, Dec. 19, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Aviall, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, has earned recognition as a 2014 Military Friendly Employer® by Victory Media, publisher of G.I. Jobs and Military Spouse magazines. This is the second year in a row for Aviall to receive this recognition.
Companies competed for the elite Military Friendly Employer® title in a survey of more than 5,000 employers. The resulting survey data was independently tested by Ernst & Young LLP based on methodology established by Victory Media. Criteria include a company's military recruiting efforts, percentage of new hires with prior military service, retention programs, and company policies on National Guard and Reserve service.
"Aviall aggressively seeks to hire military talent," Ed Dolanski, president and CEO of Aviall, said. "We have found that hiring from the military community is a strategic competitive advantage. Our employees with military experience have made valuable contributions to Aviall and we are proud to again receive this recognition."
The Military Friendly Employer® program, now in its 11th year, is the premier resource for transitioning service members and spouses seeking civilian employment. Each year companies taking the survey are held to a higher standard through improved methodology and criteria developed with the assistance of an advisory board of leaders from the military recruitment community.
Aviall and the other companies who won the 2014 award will be showcased in the December issue of G.I. Jobs magazine and online at MilitaryFriendly.com. Sean Collins, vice president of Victory Media and a nine-year U.S. Navy veteran, said the honored companies reported hiring more than 117,000 service members and spouses during the last 12 months (14 percent of new hires).
