ORLANDO, Fla., June 12, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- AVI-SPL, the world's leading video communications provider, announced today a new Virtual Meeting Room (VMR) service to meet the growing demand for personalized business communication solutions and to accommodate the rapidly growing mobile device user community. The VMR service leverages AVI-SPL's Cisco® VMDC architecture, Nexus® and UCS™ platforms in the core with Pexip Infinity software to create a reliable, scalable and low-cost option for virtual meetings. The unique design also enables larger enterprises to support the growing trend of BYOD (bring your own device) and provides a secure virtual meeting room outside of the corporate network for mobile users.
"We have invested heavily in our ability to provide as many options as possible for our customers. AVI-SPL is the only Video Managed Service provider who can provide customers with their choice of a Cisco-centric solution, a Polycom-centric solution and now a scalable QoS Virtual Meeting Room solution, combined with a unified service team who can support all components of the meeting environment," said Mike Brandofino, executive vice president of video and unified communications, AVI-SPL.
The AVI-SPL VMR service will make it possible for companies to provide dedicated meeting room IDs to as many employees as they wish and pay only for the video ports used. As they do with reservation-less audio conferencing services, individuals now have a personal video meeting code they can use at any time.
The service includes support for SIP and H.323 standards-based hardware and software codecs from leading manufacturers such as Cisco, Polycom, LifeSize and Avaya. AVI-SPL's VMR service also supports Microsoft Lync 2013 video clients and provides Skype gateway services for expanded reach and flexibility.
Stop by AVI-SPL's booth (2381) at InfoComm 2013 June 12-14 in Orlando, Fla., to register for a free trial of AVI-SPL's VMR service.
