AMSTERDAM and SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 10, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- AVG Technologies N.V. (NYSE: AVG), the provider of Internet and mobile security, privacy and optimization to 172 million active users, today launched a limited time offer for small businesses. To enable a sustainable, cost efficient migration path, this special promotion offers the AVG CloudCare™ Online Backup cloud-based small business protection platform free to existing Backup Exec.cloud customers.
"At the end of November Symantec announced plans to close down its Backup Exec.cloud service," said Mike Foreman, General Manager, SMB, AVG Technologies. "By taking advantage of this special offer, those customers affected will immediately receive alternative protection through AVG CloudCare with Online Backup. They will also receive full credit for their remaining Backup Exec.cloud licenses as well as free managed AntiVirus for all of their backed up endpoints."
Under the terms, AVG will offer AVG Online Backup for the remainder of the term of the existing Symantec Backup exec.cloud license(s), provided partners commit to giving customers a paid subscription for the same period to begin at the expiration of the term. Further, AVG will grant AVG AntiVirus licenses for one year, equal to the number of licenses redeemed in the Symantec Backup exec.cloud promotion. For example, if 100 Symantec Backup exec.cloud licenses are honored under this promotion for AVG Online Backup, 100 licenses of AVG AntiVirus for one year will be granted to the partner.
This promotion is effective immediately until 11:59 p.m. EST on March 31st, 2014. For more information on this offer, please call 855-254-6989.
AVG's small business security portfolio is comprised of a worldwide network of more than 10,000 partners. In October 2012 AVG introduced AVG CloudCare, a cloud-based administration platform offering resellers a new way to implement and manage services such as antivirus, content filtering, email security and online backup services for their small business customers. In June this year it added AVG Managed Workplace®, an open eco-system Remote Management & Monitoring (RMM) tool. AVG's vision is to make the lives of MSPs and their small business customers as easy as possible, regardless of whether staff are in the office, at home, or on the road.
