Avesta Beefs Up Operations Management with Two Industry Veterans
TAMPA, Fla., Oct. 31, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Avesta, a fully integrated owner-operator specializing in multifamily apartment homes, is proud to announce the continued growth to its operations leadership team with two industry veterans: Janice Richards, Director of Operations - Florida and Monica Escobedo, Director of Operations - Texas and Colorado.
"Janice and Monica are strategic additions to our operations team and their leadership will be an asset to both our current communities and future acquisitions across the country," said Avesta Partner Dan French. "We are thrilled we were able to pull them into the Avesta team. Both women bring an exceptionally deep knowledge base that will continue to push our excellence in service to our residents."
Richards, a 17-year industry veteran, joins Avesta from Las Vegas-based The Picerne Group as the former senior vice president of operations, southwest division. Her responsibilities included oversight of all operations, new development, and execution of asset and operation management initiatives in Nevada, Denver, and Arizona. Prior to Picerne, Richards was Regional Manager of Camden Property Trust, a publicly traded REIT, where she oversaw 10,000 apartment homes, joint venture partnerships, and renovation projects. She served on the board of the Nevada State Apartment Association and holds the title of Past President. Richards has earned a bachelor's degree and an associate degree of applied arts in professional music from Upper Iowa University. "I couldn't be happier to join the Avesta family," says Richards
Escobedo, a 20-year industry veteran, joins Avesta from Texas-based luxury apartment developer The Finger Companies as the former Vice President of Property Management. She brings a wealth of knowledge across all operations in multifamily management, starting her career as a leasing professional and working through marketing, strategic operations, and property management. Escobedo has worked on special projects including design, new development, and renovation programs. She holds her CPM through IREM. "Throughout the interviewing process, the consistent message was the strong culture within the organization. I knew immediately that I wanted to be a part of this fast growing company that already had the most important ingredient of success," says Monica.
Richards and Escobedo complement the recently announced additions of Gary Garcia II and Tara McCoy-Jeffers, who focus their efforts on investor relations. They will also be supportive of the newly launched Avesta Communities Management Platform managed by director Clint Miller. Avesta was recently recognized #19 on Fortune's "Best Medium Workplace," it's second consecutive year making the national list. The company has continued its exponential growth, now owning communities across three states and serving more than 30,000 residents. Avesta plans to continue to add experienced and talented professionals to accommodate the growing need.
