AVerMedia(R) Information Graduates School Into AVerAcademy Program
AVerAcademy program designed to showcase AVerMedia's 21st Century Classroom solutions
MILPITAS, Calif., June 2 /PRNewswire/ -- AVerMedia® Information, Inc., the leading provider of digital multimedia and presentation technology, graduated pilot school Warwood, West Virginia into its AVerAcademy showcase program. The AVerAcademy showcase program is designed to demonstrate and validate the effectiveness of AVerMedia's 21st Century Classroom solutions in real-life curricula. The AVerAcademy program evaluates how AVerMedia's products promote interactive, collaborative learning while giving educators the ability to roam the classroom. One of the products included in the AVerAcademy sites is the AVerVision355AF, a high resolution portable document camera with a one touch audio-video recording feature. Another product utilized in the site is the AVerPen system, a collaborative learning solution that integrates popular features of an Interactive white board, voting system, wireless slate and wireless presenter, all into one comprehensive solution.

Once a pilot site graduates to an AVerAcademy Showcase School, their product use is studied to determine both qualitative and quantitative data regarding the success of AVerMedia solution. These sites will also be used as a reference for other schools to evaluate AVerMedia solutions for their own potential use. Pre-K Warwood teacher Carrie Downer has been the primary user of the AVerPen and document camera since the program inception. Following product training, Mrs. Downer quickly integrated both the AVerVision document camera and AVerPen solutions into her curriculum. She quickly realized the effectiveness of the solution and its capability to promote collaboration, interactivity, formative assessment, and concept development. Furthermore, by putting the tools in the hands of her students, their engagement and concept understanding greatly increased. The mobility of the solutions allow Mrs. Downer to teach where the learning is taking place, and not be limited to front-of-room instruction. First Lady of West Virginia, Gayle Manchin, visited Warwood and watched the pilot school in action. "I really enjoyed experiencing the new AVerMedia program in her classroom. The equipment is so small, yet so impressive, and I think it is amazing how the pens are so technically savvy yet also simple enough for the children to use. I was absolutely thrilled to see Mrs. Downer use the system with the students, as it is always a great joy to see children learning in a challenging and creative environment," says Manchin.
