Ave Maria School of Law Breaking Ground on New Fitness Complex

NAPLES, Fla., Nov. 8, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Friday, November 9, 2018 will be a historical day for Ave Maria School of Law - www.avemarialaw.edu. The law school has received the largest single donation in its 18-year history—a $2 million-dollar anonymous gift toward the $4.5 million capital campaign that will enable the law school to build a new state-of-the-art Fitness Complex. Groundbreaking for the Fitness Complex will be on Friday, November 9 at 12 noon at the law school's Third Annual Veterans Celebration, with over 150 guests expected to attend.

The event's keynote speaker is Dr. John Ratey, recognized as one of the world's foremost authorities on the brain-fitness connection. He is the author of Spark: The Revolutionary New Science of Exercise and the Brain, and associate clinical professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School.

Honoring those who served our country will be a main focal point at the event leading up to Veterans Day. Many local military veterans from the Southwest Florida community are set to attend. There will be a special presentation of the St. Martin of Tours Heroes Awards given posthumously to Earl Hodges and presented to Dr. Kenneth Cooper, founder of the Cooper Institute and "Father of Aerobics," and William Schoen, retired chairman of Health Management Associates Inc.

Holy Smoke will be skywriting between 11:15 and noon over the Vineyards campus! Ladies for Liberty Singing Troupe will be back by popular demand.
