Autovie Venete Deploys March Networks IP Video Solution to Improve Motorway Customer Service
OTTAWA, March 16 /PRNewswire/ - March Networks® (TSX: MN), a global provider of intelligent IP video solutions, today announced that Autovie Venete S.p.A. has selected a March Networks IP video solution to enhance surveillance and monitoring across 14 major toll motorways in Northern Italy. More than 40 million vehicles a year travel these roads, including a steady increase in commercial vehicles en route to Eastern Europe. The solution will be fully deployed by mid-2011, enabling Autovie to improve public and employee safety through proactive monitoring and high-definition video surveillance.
"This win demonstrates our increasing success providing enterprise-class video solutions in commercial-industrial environments, where risk mitigation and system reliability are of critical importance," said Net Payne, Chief Marketing Officer, March Networks. "In addition, our video management software supports operational efficiency and advanced applications, such as video analytics, that return significant value for customers."
Autovie is working with March Networks Certified Solution Provider Test S.p.A to deploy more than a dozen VideoSphere® Video Management System (VMS) servers, SiteManager client software and approximately 150 March Networks IP cameras across its locations. The solution allows the organization to record high-quality video images and efficiently monitor all sites in real-time from a central location, which vastly improves security and loss prevention. The cameras include VideoSphere MDome HD PTZs dedicated to covering heavy commercial vehicle lanes; MicroDome PTZs installed in underground employee corridors linking toll booths; and MegaPX 1080p high-definition cameras capturing activity in exit lanes, corporate buildings, and highly sensitive areas such as the server and safe rooms.
"We are extremely pleased with this high-performance solution," said Fabiano Tuniz, IT and Software Infrastructure Director at Autovie Venete. "With March Networks technology, we will be able to respond quickly to the challenges that arise with a steady growth in traffic and continue to enhance our customer service. The future-proof nature of the solution means we can confidently deploy this equipment today, and implement new technologies as our business demands."
"Autovie Venete was looking for a video surveillance system that would do more than simply fulfill legal requirements," said Denny Gregianin, Account Manager for solution provider Test SpA. "It selected the March Networks IP video solution based on its advanced surveillance technologies and proven security and loss prevention capabilities."
